Brett Barto. Im not sure where to start, a lot of what I know about Brett is from his blog. One I would describe as more personal then some of my other favorites(that’s also why Im skippin the link for now, he’s not showing anything off, just enjoying each journey). My respect for Brett seems to be deeper then my knowledge of him personally. When I was growing up skating in Allentown, by high school people were pushing to other cities and checkin out other scenes. I was no different and my first memory of Brett is him ,his family, and his friends being at the heart of the Emmaus crew.
Brett has been skating, making independent music that has rung bells far beyond the Lehigh Valley, screening homemade shirts , printing zines, traveling , blogging , designing, shooting photos, and pushing the DIY lifestyle that kept us passing each other throughout the years.
I will get a deeper and more detailed history of Brett’s musical accomplishments, as well as his history in his skating and possibly how photography moved to the forefront for this special event with the LVAN x Homebase entitled “It Goes On” (Damn Brett , looks like you might have to allow time for this interview I just alluded to)
Its with great pleasure I am able to present a best friend of some of my best friends, Brett Barto.
Join Brett and the LVAN at Homebase Friday March 5th, from 7pm till 10pm for the opening reception.

Stop by Under Wired, Wink, Eskandalo and all the usual suspects on 3rd and 4th Street that will be hosting various First Friday festivities as well. Bundle up and come out and battle Winter Depression.
Stop out to check out LVAN Alumni Jess Hoffman over at Loose Threads
Here is a sample of Jess Hoffman’s work in “Recession Depression” that will be on display at Loose Threads.

J.D.G. will open his solo show at Homebase Friday Feb 7th 2010.
JDG is also a local musician who plays several instruments along with
making beats too. There’s a theory that every color is associated with
a specific frequency that’s tied to a certain musical note. Maybe J’s
talent in music is what helps him put together all these interesting
and visually pleasing color palettes?
In addition to properly introducing the public to his artwork, we will also be playing J.D.G.’s latest music project, The Stunt Doubles. J did all the production on the album which weaves samples from different movies between the tracks to tell a story.
The Stunt Doubles album will be available for purchase and a portion of the sales will be donated to

The LVAN is comprised of 3 core members along with an army of artists and supporters. Out of the 3,all have at least one full time day job, most have wives, pets, and a lifestyle interest in everything stylish under the sun. We got side tracked by the holidaze but are back and ready to rock for TwentyTen! We have plenty planned for this year, but let’s take a second to cast a well deserved light behind, to Jonathan Labbe’s opening. Commeh has been a fixture in the local skate scene since I first met him. He worked very hard for his opening and it shined through.
